Rodney Glassman

Fraudney.

Campaign-finance mess. Democrat past. Credibility baggage.

Rodney Glassman wants the power to prosecute Arizonans. Before voters hand him that office, they should see the record he hopes they forget.

The Rodney problem.

He wants the badge. Voters get the baggage.

Rodney Glassman is asking Arizona voters for the state's top law-enforcement job. The record voters should see first: campaign-finance allegations, a Democrat-to-Republican reboot, a history of failed campaigns, and credibility questions he denied but never made disappear.

ALLEGED ILLEGAL DONATIONS
DONATION MESSFile · 01

Rodney's AG campaign is under investigation over alleged illegal donations.

Arizona Mirror reported that election officials referred allegations that Glassman's attorney general campaign accepted excessive contributions. News From The States later reported that the dispute included at least 30 contributions above the legal limit and that Glassman's campaign attorney acknowledged some contributions violated limits while saying refunds were underway. That is not clean law-and-order baggage.

HOT POTATOFile · 02

The campaign finance mess became a prosecutor hot potato.

News From The States reported that Attorney General Kris Mayes' office cited a political conflict, Maricopa County cited Rachel Mitchell's personal friendship with Glassman, and the file moved on because offices would not take it. The issue did not disappear. It became a public test of who will handle Rodney's case.

Rodney's Republican pitch comes with a Democratic paper trail.

Before the MAGA branding, Glassman ran against John McCain as the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. AZ Capitol Times later described the same record: Democrat, Republican, repeated runs, repeated losses. Voters should not mistake a new label for a new record.

CREDIBILITY FILEFile · 04

The plagiarism allegation belongs in the credibility file.

The Arizona Daily Star reported that Glassman's UA dissertation included passages matching prior published work; his campaign defended the dissertation and his research. Voters do not need a courtroom verdict to ask the obvious question: why does this much credibility baggage keep following him?

MULTIPLE RUNS
CAREER BALLOTFile · 05

Rodney keeps shopping for the next office.

AZ Capitol Times reported that after his 2007 Tucson City Council win, Glassman ran for U.S. Senate, Corporation Commission, Maricopa County Assessor, and Attorney General. This AG run is not fresh public service. It is another attempt to find an office that finally fits.

Bottom Line

Arizona should not make Rodney the state's top lawyer.

The AG office is not a place to gamble on another political makeover.

This is not one stray headline. It is the pattern: a campaign finance case, a party-switch costume change, plagiarism questions, and one failed campaign after another. Rodney wants voters to see a fresh Republican fighter. The file says career candidate.

The decision for voters is blunt: reject the reinvention, read the receipts, and do not hand law-enforcement power to a candidate carrying this much baggage.

"Rodney wants to judge everyone else. Voters should judge Rodney first."
